From a small workshop in Tecolotlán to one of the most respected names in tent and canopy manufacturing in Mexico — this is the story of a family, a trade, and a commitment that has never changed.
Toldos y Carpas de México was founded in 1962 in Tecolotlán, Jalisco, by a first generation of craftsmen who believed that the best structures are built by people who touch every seam themselves. Six decades later that belief has not changed — but everything around it has.
What began as a single workshop producing canvas tents for local farmers and community celebrations has grown into a full-service manufacturer capable of engineering, fabricating and installing shade solutions of any scale. And yet the operation is still family-run, still headquartered in Jalisco, and still 100% Mexican from raw fabric to final installation.
Today, our tents cover weddings and haciendas, corporate galas and product launches, industrial yards and government facilities, restaurant patios and boutique storefronts across every state in Mexico. The scale has changed. The obsession with quality has not.

Four principles have guided every project we have delivered — and every one we ever will.
Every seam, every fitting, every reinforcement is inspected by a human hand. Machines help us move faster. They do not replace judgment.
We only quote what we can build, and we build what we quote. No hidden costs, no substitute materials, no surprises during installation.
Every fiber of what we make is sourced, cut and assembled in Mexico. We support local suppliers because our identity depends on it.
A tent is not a one-time purchase — it is a relationship. Our clients call us for maintenance, repairs, expansions and new projects, decade after decade.
The first workshop opens with a single sewing machine, three craftsmen, and a commitment to serving the local community with durable canvas tents and covers.
Growing demand from event planners and haciendas across Jalisco leads to the first expansion of the workshop and the addition of a dedicated installation crew.
Following requests from manufacturing and logistics clients, the company introduces a heavy-duty product line for warehousing, agriculture and industrial coverage.
Alfonso Ortiz assumes leadership of the company, continuing the family tradition and introducing modern engineering, project-management practices and material research.
The company begins engineering architectural tensile fabric structures for plazas, corporate campuses and public spaces across Mexico.
With more than 12,000 projects delivered across all 32 states of Mexico, Toldos y Carpas de México continues to build every solution with the same principles that guided the very first tent in 1962.
